“Our wines represent a snapshot in time of people, places and the stories they tell.”

Brad Ely

Born and raised on the Central Coast, Brad first developed an interest in fine wine while attending college and working in fine dining restaurants. After graduating from Cal Poly with a degree in Business and Entrepreneurship, he decided to forgo the suit and tie for jeans and work boots, and accepted a harvest internship at Saucelito Canyon in San Luis Obispo. The internship turned into 2 years of full time cellar work, where he learned the fundamentals of farming and winemaking. Once a full passion for wine was instilled, his thirst for knowledge led him all over the world, before coming back home for good as the winemaker for Grey Wolf and Barton Family Wines. Brad has a deep passion for winemaking, focusing on wines of freshness and balance, that truly show a sense of place.

Where the Wine is Made

About

Barton Family Wines

Joe Barton, Owner & Director of Winemaking, has made it his life mission to carry on his father’s legacy and create a distinct style, sourcing from dry-farmed vineyards in the Paso Robles Willow Creek, Templeton Gap and Adelaida District AVAs. Farming is the core of his business. Understanding the unique microclimates of Paso Robles distinct AVAs identifies the best location for growing a variety of wines with regional character.

Established in 1994, Joe and his wife Jenny run the family business as a husband-and-wife team. Joe’s mom, Shirlene, is also an integral part of the day-to-day operations still and they are a completely owned and operated family business to this day. They added Barton’s Kitchen in 2013, offering farm-to-table, casual cuisine. In 2012 a Craft Distillery was added the property, offering tastes of rye whiskey, bourbon, rum, vodka, and gin. The Barton Family Estate is the only site on the 46 West corridor in Paso Robles that offers Wine, Food and Spirits all in one location. What more could you ask for when looking for a genuine Paso Robles tasting experience like no other.
